The Casino Baden-Baden is one of the oldest and most lavish gambling houses in Europe. Roulette and card tables have been running inside the neoclassical Kurhaus since 1824, and from the middle of the 19th century the French operator Jacques Bénazet and his son Édouard had the salons fitted out in the manner of French royal palaces: mirrored walls, painted ceilings, chandeliers the size of small cars. Marlene Dietrich is said to have called it the most beautiful casino in the world.
The Kurhaus is also the social center of the town. Behind the columned portico, ballrooms and concert halls sit alongside the gaming rooms, and the terrace looks straight out over the Kurgarten. If you have no intention of placing a bet, you can still see the interiors: guided tours run during the day, before play begins, so you get the full Belle Epoque effect without staking a cent.

- The gaming floor has a dress code (jacket, and a tie in some rooms) and photo ID is required from age 21.
- Daytime guided tours of the historic salons are available, with no gambling involved.
- It sits directly on the Kaiserallee, a few steps from the Trinkhalle (the pump room) and the Lichtentaler Allee.
